Short description of the activity
During the workshop, I presented the main ideas and experience from the Erasmus+ training course focused on “Stoic Principles in Modern Entrepreneurship.” I briefly introduced the concept of Stoicism and explained how these principles can be applied in entrepreneurship and everyday decision-making.
After the short presentation, we moved on to an interactive activity designed to develop creativity, communication, and presentation skills. Participants were asked to choose a random object and prepare a one-minute pitch to “sell” it. However, the challenge was that they could not present the object in its usual or obvious way. Instead, they had to invent a completely new and unconventional purpose for it. This encouraged them to think outside the box, adapt quickly, and use persuasive communication techniques.
During the activity, participants listened carefully to each other’s pitches and reacted to the ideas presented. The atmosphere was very positive and engaging, and the task brought a lot of fun and creativity into the group. Many participants came up with surprising and original ideas, which led to spontaneous discussions and laughter. After each pitch, we briefly discussed what made it interesting or convincing, which helped participants better understand how to capture attention and communicate effectively.
The main methods used during the activity included informal presentation, group discussion, and experiential learning through a practical exercise. Participants actively engaged in the task, shared their ideas, and provided feedback to each other.
At the end of the workshop, we had a short reflection session where participants discussed what they had learned, even on a subconscious level, and whether they found the activity beneficial. They identified skills such as entrepreneurial thinking, public speaking, thinking under pressure due to the time limit, and the ability to attract and engage customers. Some participants mentioned that they gained new confidence and realized the importance of creativity in presenting ideas. As a result, the activity helped them better understand the importance of creativity, mindset, and adaptability in entrepreneurship while also improving their confidence and communication skills.
