
The Patras Youth Association, founded by Athanasia, Maria, and Orestis, aims to promote EU values and foster a sense of EU identity among young people. The organization focuses on educating youth about social and environmental issues through non-formal education methods. It actively engages in developing social skills and knowledge, leveraging strong partnerships with local, regional, and international organizations to provide diverse experiences in youth policy development and implementation.
Main Objectives:
• Promote EU values and identity among young people.
• Educate youth on social and environmental issues through non-formal education.
• Foster active citizenship and social entrepreneurship.
• Enhance skills in IT, communication, and management.
• Strengthen local and international partnerships for youth development.
While the Patras Youth Association is newly established, its members have accumulated over a decade of experience as youth workers. They have volunteered extensively with other NGOs and have been actively involved in organizing and implementing projects through their informal youth group.
In particular, Patras Youth Association members have substantial experience in the following areas:
• Erasmus+ Youth Exchanges and Training Courses: The members have participated in and led numerous Erasmus+ youth exchanges and training courses. Their involvement includes applying for, organizing, managing, and implementing these projects, providing them with a deep understanding of Erasmus+ programs.
• Project Management and Organization: Through their informal group, the members have gained valuable experience in managing and organizing projects. They have successfully executed various initiatives aimed at youth development and education, both locally and internationally.
• Workshops and Dissemination Activities: The team has led workshops and sessions in over 10 Erasmus+ projects, sharing their knowledge and skills with other young people. They have also organized dissemination activities in Patras, ensuring that the outcomes of their projects reach a wider audience.
• Partnership Development: The association benefits from the strong partnerships its members have developed with local institutes and international organizations. These collaborations are built on mutual respect and knowledge sharing, enabling the association to effectively organize and implement diverse activities.
